Manitoba Museum Portraits of the North Touring Exhibition

The Manitoba Museum Touring Exhibition was created by the Manitoba Museum after receiving a $50,000 grant from the federal Museums Assistance Program (MAP) to support production costs and touring.

The exhibit consists of 30 portraits of Metis, First Nations and Inuit people, primarily elders, of Manitoba and Nunavut. Accompanying the portraits are 4 curatorial notebooks which provide mini-biographies of the subjects in English, Cree, Inuktitut and French. The entire exhibit comes in 4 art crates and can be easily set up.
