My first trip to Nunavut occurred in 2002. Seven years later I have visited all seven of the communities in the Kivalliq (Keewatin) district of Nunavut. I have met many extraordinary Elders whose lives have been monumental examples of human endurance. The Inuit culture is a significant part of the fabric that makes Canada unique. These are some of my experiences.
